Western Zhou Dynasty Jade Plaque,H.6.5cm,W.8.2cm

Carved with yellow tone jade, this round angle rectangular plaque has seem motif both sides. There are are four phoenixes located at the corner on each side. The carving style matches the Western Zhou genre of big slant carving. There are eight holes of which the bigger rectangular ones sitting at the outer ring while the smaller round holes sitting at the inner ring.This jade plaque is supposed to be used as the decoration object for the dress of the Zhou people. Antiquity evidences include additive crystals and diffusive markings.
