漢代青黃玉捲龍珮, Han Dynasty Jade Dragon Plaque, H.13cm, W.11cm

2016-4-28-e596aee59c96-13 (1)捲龍珮dsc05271 (1)自新石器時代之紅山文化開始, 歷經商周及春秋戰國, 一直都是主要的玉雕紋飾, 代表王者之尊貴. 本器捲龍珮, 青黃玉雕琢, 全身捲成一圈, 頭部有一龍首扣, 栓住全身, 龍尾呈斧形, 有鏤空捲草紋, 龍身上端有出廓鳳紋, 龍身表面飾吉祥紋淺浮雕, 本器玉質晶瑩, 古玉跡象有冰裂紋, 飯沁, 牛毛紋, 溶蝕孔等.

Dragons no matter in the form of C-dragon or pig dragon are always important jade motifs since the Neolithic periods of Hongshan Culture down to the Dynasties of Shang Dynasty all the to Western Zhou, Spring Autumn, Warring States, Han Dynasty, Six Dynasties, to the Qing Dynasty. This Han Dynasty jade dragon plaque has a curling shape, with an ax tail. On the head there are buckle shape young dragon on both sides. On the top edge of the body, phoenixes are decorated. The surface of the whole body have low relief auspicious cloud motifs. The ax shape tail is an open work design with low relief  vein leaves. Antiquity evidences are dissolved pits and cleaving veins.
