Bi is one of the six ritual jades of the Chinese jade cultures. Bi is originally served as the object dedicated to the heaven. However, it was used as pledge evidence later. The motifs of Chinese jade bi motifs have revolted from plain such as Hongshan Culture bi, to God’s face such as Liangzhu Culture bi, to dragon, arms such as Shang Dynasty bi, Western Zhou Dynasty bi, to God’s face, dragon and phoenix combination such as Spring Autumn bi to crops such as Han Dynasty bi, to nipple such as Qing Dynasty bi.(left image)The final task is to find out the motif of the legendary Ho’s bi.
