不同於一般四足著地的牛, 本器將牛人形化, 昂首前視, 後足站立, 前足作拱手狀.有憨厚古樸風格, 嘴部鑽孔法與商代以來見與動物嘴部之多重圓孔法相同.背部飾桃形如意雲紋淺浮雕, 腿部及手部加上邊框及以凸顯其部位, 其內飾飽滿型如意雲紋. 全器古玉跡象為擴散暈沁色及鈣化. Carved with pale tone jade, the object is a jade cow of humanized presentation. Instead of the usual four leg standing, it is standing with the back legs, and the holding the two front legs showing greeting like human. The mouth has holes with the carving styles since the Shang Dynasty and popular in the Spring Autumn period. Frame lines are used to sketch the parts of front and back legs decorated with bosom auspicious cloud motif. Spade shape auspicious cloud motifs are shown on the back, With skillful design and mastery workmanship, this simple jade cow is lovely and has antiquity evidences of diffusive marking and calcification.
