斧除了實際上的砍伐功能外, 其文字上於虎同音, 本器玉斧上飾玉龍, 龍斧二者合稱龍虎, 表示強者, 玉斧柄部飾回紋, 回紋表示雲氣, 龍置於雲氣上, 表示飛龍在天, 至高無上, 玉斧表面飾如意雲紋淺浮雕, 整體而言, 本器具備威猛而吉祥的意涵. 本器古玉跡象為差異風化及鈣化.
