Brush holder has long been a necessary companion writing tools in Chinese cultures. Sources have shown there were brush holders in the Song Dynasty. Carved with pale tone jade, the object is a brush holder with a form of a mountain. However, based on the motif on the object, the object is ahead of god with two horns. A phoenix with the head facing backward is decorated on one of the horns. The carving style is an incised line with the skillful design. Antiquity evidence are diffusive marking and calcification.
