Carved by local jade from Tai Lake area, the object is a typical Liangzhu Culture awl shape septic whose usage is unknown. As with the typical jade awl,  the front end has a shape point, the back end may be served as the handle with a hole at the near end. The main motif is a Liangzhu-style low-relief carving of a god’s face.
