唐孟郊遊子吟: 慈母手中線，遊子身上衣。臨行密密縫，意恐遲遲歸。誰言寸草心，報得三春暉。 在中華玉文化中，以母愛為主題的玉器，常以慈母愛子多種形式組合雕琢不形制玉器。本文列舉戰國, 東漢, 唐代三玉器加以說明。Song of Traveler Leaving Hometown, by Mengjao, Poet of Tang Dynasty. The loving mother worrying about her son’s late return is busying in making a dress for him who is ready to leave home for a long trip. The mother’s love is so immense that beyond what the son could return.
本器黃玉雕琢, 形制為鳳鳥母子玉樽， 玉樽可能作為酒器, 母腹中空為樽體， 鳳鳥子立於蓋子上， 這種造型常見於戰國時期的青銅器和玉器。 鳳鳥頭上有冠狀羽， 嘴向內勾， 尾部上下分叉， 全身羽毛為淺浮雕。 鳳鳥係瑞禽， 孔子曾曰：「鳳鳥不至，河不出圖，吾已矣夫！」 本器造形栩栩如生， 刀工精美， 古玉跡象有擴散暈沁色， 鐵鏽沁等， 應屬戰國玉器精品。Warring States Jade Container. L.23.5cm, H.20cm. Carved with yellow tone jade, the object is a container with mother phoenix holding baby phoenix on the back. The object may serve as a wine container. With low relief carving style, the crown has a crest, the beat is bent like a hook, the feather is carved in full detail. with mastery workmanship, the object has antiquity evidence of diffusive markings, calcification, and iron residual.
2. 東漢漢光武帝”光武御製”銘文羊脂白玉玉鷹硯滴, H.15cm, L.18cm,1000grams
從壺口的大小,壺內的容積推測, 應該是文房四寶的用具中的硯滴. 就整體造型而言, 母鷹背負子鷹,尾部則庇護著幼龍,母鷹頭部微微後彎, 凝視著子鷹及幼龍, 深怕牠們照顧不周, 將幼吾幼,以及人之幼的偉大情操,流露無遺,符合光武中興之漢光武帝注意民生與民休息之經濟政策精神. 本器造型意境之高,令人讚嘆.左右翅膀各有祥龍.The mother eagle is staring backward at both the young eagle and the young dragon to make sure they are nicely taken care of. The noble character of loving not only her own loved but also the others have fully been expressed. This theme conforms to Emperor Kwan -Wu’s economic policy of paying attention to people’s livelihood, resting with the people.
3. 唐代慈母親子圖，高19公分， 寬9公分, Tang Dynasty Jade Mother and Son, H.19cm, W.9cm
本器慈母親子圖， 青玉雕琢， 母親手中拿著帽子正在準備為兒子戴上，母親流露慈祥表情，兒子則一臉高興的樣子。 本器人物表情生動， 古玉跡象為溶蝕孔， 擴散暈沁色及鈣化。Carved with pale tone jade, the object is mother and son statue. The mother full of love is holding a new hat she made for her son who seems happy to have the new hat that his mother made for him. The carving is vividly showing the scene of motherly love. Antiquity evidence is dissolved pits, diffusive markings, and calcification.
