12. Han Dynasty Open-worked Jade Bi w/ yi zi sun(宜子孙) open-worked Extension, H. 35.cms, W. 19.7cms, T.0.8cm

本器和田黃玉雕琢, 形制為出廓玉璧, 出廓部分, 頂端飾一象徵天的圓環, 下端由龍首相背的雙龍托住, 雙龍頸部以下飾篆體宜子孫三字. 左右由橫豎不同方向六龍環繞, 上下左右各飾一鳳鳥. 玉璧的外圈及內圈飾繩索紋, 以區分天界及地界, 整個璧的部分飾十二隻虺龍, 首尾交錯, 龍首位於內圈及外圈各六隻, 象徵一年十二個月均能宜子孫.  本器雕工精美華麗, 各龍活靈活現, 本器更具備差異風化, 擴散暈沁色, 溶蝕孔, 鈣化等古玉跡象. 是漢代不可多得的出廓鏤空有宜子孫字樣的玉器精品.( 來源: 家族百年收藏)

The object is carved from yellow-tone Hetian jade, in the shape of a jade bi with an extension, The top part of the extension is decorated with a ring symbolizing heaven, underneath is the characters of 宜子孫(benefit the descendants) surrounded by six dragons in different directions horizontally and vertically, and the lower end is supported by the double dragons back to back. The upper and lower dragon is decorated with a phoenix bird. The outer and inner circles of the jade bi are decorated with rope patterns to distinguish heaven and the earth. There are six dragon heads in the inner circle and six in the outer circle, symbolizing that the 12 months of the year can be suitable for descendants. The carving is exquisite and gorgeous, and the dragons are alive. Signs of ancient jade are differential weathering and calcification. It is a rare open-worked with extension jade bi in the Han Dynasty with the words suitable to descendants and grandchildren.

本器和田青玉雕琢, 形制為出廓玉璧. 出廓部分, 頂端中央飾象徵天籟的圓環, 下緣橫向飾篆體鏤空宜子孫, 左右相向由一雙龍龍首鳳身神獸環繞. 璧呈玉瑗形式, 淺浮雕紋飾, 上下飾神面, 上方左右飾騎獸人面鳥身的大鵬金翅鳥. 左右下方飾虺龍及虎首龍身神獸. 孔部飾蟠龍. 本器雕工細膩, 紋飾生動. 本器差異風化,  溶蝕孔, 石灰沁等古玉跡象明顯,  是漢代出廓宜子孫玉璧精品. (來源:  家族百年收藏)

The object is carved with green-tone Hetian jade and is in the shape of a jade bi with an extension. On the outer part, the center of the top is decorated with a ring symbolizing heaven, and the lower edge is decorated with an open-worked seal style carving “yi zi sun(宜子孙)” (benefit to the descendants). The bi part is In the form of yuen, with the low-relief decoration of divine faces on the top and bottom, and the upper and left sides are decorated with Garuda riding a tiger. With vivid decoration, the object has obvious signs of differential weathering, dissolved pits, and calcification. It is a fine jade bi with extensions and characters of carving “yi zi sun(宜子孙)” (benefit to the descendants) of the Han Dynasty.
